*We NEED more 2X4 or 2X8 lumber for the luminary bags. If you have any scraps, or know of a building site, please let me or Pete know….ASAP
*I need a computer with Publisher, to edit our program.
*Angels for Luminaria ceremony
*Group to hand out programs at registration tent
*Person or group to man the info tent
*Person to plan the Wrap Up event
*Lots of onsite fundraisers!!!

Team Captain Notes

Team Captains Bring….lighters, cooler with water and snacks, chairs, sleeping bags, Silent Auction Basket and CASH for the onsite fundraising!! There will be lots of food and goodies!!! Plan your onsite fundraising now!!

Some great onsite fundraiser ideas include….team sports, such as volleyball, washers, horseshoes, etc. Let me know and I can spread the work to register early at your campsite.

No pets, PLEASE abide by this rule, it is the school’s rule and we don’t want to loose the privilege of using the stadium as out location.

The website passed $1,000!!! WOW, that is amazing. Since it was our first year to have the online option, I had low expectations during our learning curve.

It is St Patrick's Day!! So, lets celebrate GREEN...with Purple!! At Clear River Pecan.

Please bring your Team and Team Member Registration forms.

*The Secret Garden is donating the money from their 'boob' shirts to Relay. If you havent see these, you HAVE to go by there!!
*Ink Jet cartridges! I have envelopes and labels if yo need them, or bring your cartridges to a meeting.

Oprah's Big Give

I am watching Oprah's Big Give tonight. Each of the teams are working to raise money in creative ways. Hummm....that sounds familiar.

Team Captains-use these as ideas for your team fundraisers!!

*Fashion show-round up several of the shops in town. Businesses love to advertise!
*Block party-outdoor carnival style honoring survivors
*Church-speaking and/or singing to ask for donations

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

Each year 130,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

I can fight back against colon cancer....
*I can get tested for colon cancer if I am 50 or older. I have the power to avoid colon cancer by getting tested.
*I can encourage a friend or family member to get tested for colon cancer.
*I can make a personal commitment to decrease my risk. Colon cancer risk factors are age, family history, an drace, but other factors - suck as smoking, obesity, and diet also impact my risk.

Monday meeting

Our next Team Captain meeting is this Monday, March 3rd, 6:30pm at Clear River Pecan. (Committe will meet at 5:30)

Please bring your participant forms, or make sure everyone on your team has registered online to guarantee a tshirt.

This also means ALL teams need to be registered. If you do not want to register online, come to the meeting with your $20 registration fee, there will be plenty of forms there.

I have heard several really great fundraising ideas from teams this year!!! Come share your ideas and advertise your event!!
