Please remember to vote YES to Prop 15, on November 6th. Early voting has already started at the courthouse. You have probably seen or heard Lance Armstrong getting the word out about Prop 15, it is supported by not only the American Cancer Society, but also the Texas Medical Association, Susan G. Komen, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Texas Holds the Cure
Proposition 15 is a state constitutional amendment to establish the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas to:
*Conduct research to prevent and cure cancer.
*Support existing cancer research efforts in Texas.
*Implement the Texas Cancer Plan, a statewide blueprint for cancer prevention and control.
If passed, Proposition 15 will authorize up to $3 billion in state general revenue bonds to fund cancer research, prevention early detection and control programs.
Remember, we are all advocates everyday! On November 6, 2007 we have the opportunity to be even bigger advocates. Please remind everyone you know to VOTE!!
Unite and fight cancer. Vote for Prop 15.

Theme
The theme of Summit was
Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.
This is up for discussion (at committee meetings), but I like it. It makes a great answer when we are asked, "What do you do at Relay?" or "Why?"
We Celebrate. the lives of those who have battled cancer.
We Remember. loved ones lost to the disease.
We Fight Back. against a disease that takes too much.
We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperatly want to put and end to the disease. Make a commitment to save lives by taking up the fight.
Please comment back, or email relay2007@hotmail.com, so I know you are reading!!

Back from Summit!!
Hello all!! The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Summit was last weekend, and again the conference was packed with information and helpful resources. The main difference this year was that I went alone. Yep, I had a stranger as a roommate on the 29th floor! I survived amazingly well.
Along with tackling the ballroom with 1300 people each day, I found the support of those 1300 people. We all have a major part of our lives in common, and it took just a few minutes for a click of girls to form. Saturday night was filled with girl fun and confidence building. Getting out of Fredericksburg and meeting people was GREAT! I went out on a limb and did things WAY out of my normal little life and grew because of it.

just notes...
I am still putting together the 2007 scrapbook. Any pictures you have would be greatly appreciated, ESPECIALLY if you have any pictures of the closing ceremony.
If you have any Ink Jet cartridges, please save them for our Relay! Yesterday I received a check from the recycle place!! That is so exciting!
I am still looking to fill several committee positions. If you are interested in helping, please call me 512/644-5307, or reply to this email. If you are receiving this email…then I have a position in mind for you! We can meet for lunch or after work.
